Firyel Balducci Maksi-Elyas (Midyeyto)
Das Auge von Midyat (2005)

Firyel's book is an exciting novel about Midyat, a city which is located in the Southeast of Turkey.
The key characters are the girl named Marryololo and her neighbor and friend, Augin, who belong to the ancient Aramean people.

Marrylolo lived an ordinary life in the 1970s. Her father went abroad to earn money to build a house in Midyat. In the meantime, Marrylolo experiences many adventures. One day, a voice came to her and lead her to a hidden place. There she encountered a huge stone embodied by the ancient Amorite king Hammurabi.

From this king, she received a beautiful medal known as 'The eye of Midyat'. This round medal of gold, with a blue eye in the middle, kept a close eye on her.
